Zenphi Pricing vs Zapier, Make & Workato: What Google Workspace Automation Really Costs at Scale
Zapier and Make look cheapest on the pricing page — until volume grows. Both charge per unit of work (Zapier: tasks, 1.25× rate once you exceed your plan; Make: credits, +25% for extra packs, charged even on failed runs). Workato skips the sticker price entirely and negotiates a custom contract, typically $50K–$180K+/year at real usage. Zenphi prices flat, per workflow — not per task, run, or seat — so the bill doesn't move when volume spikes.
Every platform's pricing page shows you the best-case number. This page shows what teams actually pay once a workflow runs thousands of times a month — with a calculator so you can plug in your own volume.

What Would Your Automation Actually Cost?
Enter your real monthly volume. This calculates task/credit consumption the same way each vendor's own pricing page does — not a hypothetical, the actual published tier structure as of July 2026.
e.g. invoices processed, approvals routed, records synced
trigger + every action, filter, and condition in the flow
This calculator applies each vendor's own published pricing tiers and overage rules (verified June–July 2026) to the volume you enter. It is an estimate for comparison, not a quote — actual bills depend on plan negotiation, annual vs. monthly billing, and specific app/connector fees. Zenphi's exact price depends on your workflows; book a call for a number, not a range.
How Each Platform Actually Prices Automation
Every number below is pulled from each vendor's public pricing page or verified third-party benchmark data (Vendr, SpendHound).

The Number on the Pricing Page Isn't the Number You'll Pay
Success creates the bill, not just usage
Per-task and per-operation pricing means your automation cost climbs directly with business volume. Double your leads, orders, or invoices, and your Zapier or Make bill roughly doubles too — the workflow didn't get more valuable, it just ran more often.
Failed runs still count against your quota
On Make, a scenario that fails on step 6 of a 6-step run still consumes the first 5 credits. A misconfigured workflow that loops overnight can silently drain a month's operation budget before anyone notices.
Opacity is a pricing strategy, not an accident
Workato deliberately doesn't publish self-serve pricing — enterprise iPaaS vendors keep quotes custom so each deal can be priced to what the buyer will tolerate, not a fixed rate card. That works against you unless you have real benchmark data going into the negotiation.

Is Zenphi Worth Adopting If You Already Use Several Google Workspace Add-Ons?
Free and cheap Google Workspace add-ons genuinely cover a real slice of use cases — a Sheets add-on that sends one notification, a Forms script that creates a Doc. For a single, isolated, low-stakes task, that's often the right answer, and switching to a paid platform for it would be overkill.
The gap shows up at the process level, not the task level: once a workflow needs conditional approval routing, has to survive an employee changing the underlying Sheet, needs an audit trail for compliance, or has to trigger from a Google Admin event rather than a manual click, most add-ons stop being able to help — they weren't built for governed, multi-step processes. That's the 20% most teams eventually hit, and it's usually the most business-critical 20%.
Where Cheap Add-Ons Cover You — and Where They Stop
Add-ons are usually fine for:
Single-app, single-trigger tasks with no approval step and no audit requirement
You need a real platform once:
Multiple people need to approve, multiple systems need to update, or a compliance team needs to see who did what and when
The cost comparison that matters:
Not Zenphi vs. a free add-on — it's Zenphi vs. the manual labor cost of the process the add-on can't finish automating
Real Teams, Real Cost Outcomes
"Previously we were forced to outsource our workflow of invoice verification and processing overseas. But with Zenphi, we were not only able to bring it back in-house, we also reduced our costs and decreased our processing time significantly."
"Zenphi supports our operations. We value its flexibility and adaptability to our needs. As long as you know what you want, then you can create any workflow that suits your needs."
Pricing Questions Finance and Ops Leaders Ask
Straight answers, including the ones that don't flatter any vendor equally.
Honestly, for a single isolated task — one notification, one Doc generated from a Form — a free add-on probably does cover most of the value, and switching platforms for it isn't worth the effort. The gap shows up once the task becomes a process: multi-step approval routing, an audit trail a compliance team can query, or a trigger from a Google Admin event rather than a manual click. Most add-ons weren't built for that layer at all — it's not a pricing gap, it's a capability gap. Teams that adopt Zenphi are usually replacing the 20% of their automation that add-ons structurally can't reach, not the 80% that add-ons already handle fine.
Any platform priced flat rather than per-task or per-operation avoids the overage problem structurally, because there's no meter to exceed. Zapier bills overage at 1.25× your plan's per-task rate up to a hard cap at 3×. Make charges 25% more for extra operation packs, and counts failed or errored runs against your quota regardless of outcome. Zenphi prices per workflow, flat — a process that runs 500 times a month costs the same as one that runs 50,000 times, so a volume spike changes your operational load, not your bill.
Workato competes in the enterprise iPaaS category, where custom-quoted pricing is the market norm — publishing a rate card would commoditize deals that are otherwise priced to what each specific buyer's usage and budget can bear. In practice this means going into a Workato negotiation without benchmark data (median verified contract value is roughly $65K/year) puts a buyer at a real disadvantage on list-price exposure.
Not necessarily — Zapier's and Make's entry tiers are genuinely inexpensive for light, low-volume use, and a small team running a handful of simple automations may pay less there than anywhere else. Zenphi's flat pricing is built for the crossover point: the moment volume, workflow complexity, or governance requirements make per-task pricing start climbing faster than the value the workflow delivers. The calculator above shows roughly where that crossover sits for your own volume.
Zapier introduced separate model-based pricing for its AI features in June 2026, and Make's credit system charges AI and code-execution steps at a different rate than standard module runs — both add a second meter on top of the base plan. Zenphi's AI Agents and ZAIA workflow assistant are built into the same flat, per-workflow pricing — there isn't a separate AI usage line item to track.
